I feel it every day
When I enter the shower
And leave it
When I brush my teeh
When I brush my hair
When I grab my mug
for that morning cup of brew
When I grab the wheel
When I take the railing
When I walk into the building
When I sit at my desk
waiting for the day to end
When I pick up the groceries
When I sit at the bar
When I watch a show on the couch
When I turn in and say good night.
Most of all
I feel it late at night
In the darkness of my room
and the coldness of my bed.
It is so strange that
Something so small
to fit inside my hand
will haunt me the rest of my days.
