Oh, to have Van Gogh’s ear
So that I may not hear
The problems of the common man
Or try to learn or understand.
Oh, to have the tine man’s heart
So that I will be able to part
From the things I hold most dear
Or ever have to shed a tear.
Oh, to have a dull man’s mind
So that I can be a bland kind,
A person who does not leave the flock
Or give a reason to be mocked.
Oh, to have a idiot’s brain
So I do not have to feel the rain
Touch me as often such
Or humanity means that much.
